SCALE RULE CHANGES FOR 2012
There are a significant number of rule changes for 2012, in particular a complete set of Rules and Judges' Guide for the new Standoff Scale R/C class. There have also been revisions to the competitor's declaration form to incorporate the new class.
Other changes worthy of note include the following:
6.1.1 - Revised definition.
6.1.4 - Judges for centralised events to be approved by the STC.
6.1.6(c)- Droppable stores no longer constrained by weight of static equivalent.
In all classes under 'Realism', the overall perceived sound made by the model will be judged, not just the engine sound. This allows for propeller/airframe noise and on-board sound systems to be taken into account.
6.3.13.4 - The throttle setting for the Descending Circle has to be low but no longer constant.
6.3.13.5 (N) - In the Overshoot manoeuvre, after checking the descent and applying power the model is required to accelerate in a level attitude until climbing speed is reached. Judges will be looking for a period of level flight commensurate with the prototype before the model commences its climb.
6.1.13.5(V) - Lazy 8 - clarification that wings must be level at the crossover.
