SCALE INDOOR AT RAF DIGBY – 24 FEBRUARY 2008

Things are looking good for Digby on 24 February.  The initial response was sufficiently promising for me to include an entry form when my letter went out to those not on email and a copy of the form is attached.  You can locate the camp by putting the post code  LN4 3LH into Multimap or Google Maps.  If you plan to come, please fill in the entry form and either post or email it back to me no later than 15^th February – sooner if possible so that I can get an idea of the likely numbers for each class.  If you’re not sure if you can make it I will be happy to take entry fees at the door – but I will still need your entry form by the closing date to ensure that you are on the list - otherwise if you do come you may not get past the Guard Room!.  Don’t forget to include your car number and the names of any helpers you will be bringing with you as all will need security passes.  It would be advisable also to bring some form of photo ID - a new style driving licence or passport will do.  Booking in may take a little time so please allow a little extra and be patient if you do have to wait.  Could I also please ask you to wear trainers or soft-soled shoes to avoid damage to the wooden floor in the gym – otherwise they may not welcome us back!   Doors will be open from 0900 hrs with flying from 0930 onwards and competition flying from 1000 hrs.   I may be able to provide some tables and chairs but I would advise you to bring your own just in case.  If it is not clear on the entry form, the cost for fun flyers will be just the £10 hall fee and I will not charge for non-flying helpers (unless, of  course, they would like to make a voluntary contribution towards the Team Travel fund!).

One or 2 people have enquired about B&B accommodation in the local area.    There are a few nearby which I have listed in the attachment but I cannot guarantee their quality or price!   There is also a Travelodge on Holdingham roundabout at the A17/A15 junction about 5 miles from Digby which currently has saver rate rooms available for the Saturday night at £29.  Grantham, Newark and Lincoln are all only half an hour away if you have no luck locally.
